Sightreading Final: MEN'S AND WOMEN'S
Welcome to your sightreading final!
Follow the directions on this page carefully. WHEN IN DOUBT, GO GET HELP from someone in the choir room!
1. START THE CAMERA. Press record and make sure the screen says "REC." Turn the screen toward you so that you can see yourself.
Stand on the "X" and make sure you can see your head and hand signs in the camera. If not, adjust the camera or yourself.
You will let the camera record this entire process. Don't press start/stop!
2. COUNTING/CLAPPING FINAL
Find the RHYTHM example on the music stand. Take a minute or two and study it, preparing yourself to count and clap. No, you may not write in the counting.
When you feel ready, click on this link, which will give you a steady beat and "count you in" to the counting exercise.
If you feel you can do better, feel free to try clapping/counting it once more. No more than twice, please!
3. SOLFEGE/SIGHTREADING FINAL
Find the SIGHTREADING/SOLFEGE example on the music stand. You may not write on this sheet. We'll follow our four steps to sightreading:
A. STUDY. Take a minute or two and "sign through" the example on your own. Make sure I can see you signing on the camera. This is part of your grade.
B. CHANT. Follow this link, which will "count you in." CLICK HERE TO CHANT!
C. AUDIATE. Follow this link, which will give you the key and "count you in." CLICK HERE TO AUDIATE!
D. SING. Follow this link, which will give your your note and "count you in." CLICK HERE TO SING!
If you feel you can do better, feel free to try singing it once more. No more than twice, please!
