PERFORMANCE DRESS

It is extremely important that students follow the performance dress guidelines EXACTLY. Our goal is to look professional, mature, elegant, and to MATCH. It’s not about you; it’s about the whole group.

CHAMBER: We wear choir robes. These robes will be assigned to students at the beginning of the year. THEY SHOULD REMAIN AT SCHOOL, except for certain circumstances (trips, etc) where students will take them and be responsible for them. If you lose your choir robe, it is a $140 fee to replace it. 

What to wear with your choir robe: BLACK tights/pantyhose/dress pants, black socks, black flat closed-toe DRESS shoes. No sneakers or printed shoes. No heels. No shirts with collars – we should not see your shirt under your robe. No flashy jewelry, hats, bandanas, perfume or cologne (but please DO wear deodorant!). Perfume and cologne is very hard on some people when singing – lots of allergies. Please do not wear it.

TREBLE & VARSITY: Treble and Varsity Choirs wear black dresses or black shirts/slacks and ties owned by the school. You will be fitted for a uniform in the first few weeks of school. Once you have your uniform, you should take it home. You may need to hem the dress or pants. You can sew it or use hemming tape. Please don’t ruin it by letting it drag on the ground if it’s too long! Launder as directed – wash cold, hang dry.

If you do not return your dress at the end of the year, there is a $70 replacement fee. If you do not return your shirt/tie combo at the end of the year, there is a $30 fee to replace it.

KNIGHT (Tenor/Bass): The Knight choir wears dress shirts, ties, black dress pants, black dress socks, and black dress shoes. The school provides the dress shirt, and tie. You must find your own black dress pants, black socks, and black shoes. If you wear a belt, it must be black. We can help you find those items if you don’t have them. You must return the school-owned items at the end of the year, or you will be charged for them.
