I’m a Canadian “resident alien” but I can assure you that I admire my adopted home and I’m passionate about instilling in students a greater love for their country in my teaching of AP U.S. History, AP U.S. Government, and U.S. Government.
I received my B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of Alberta in Canada. I’ve also completed graduate course work at Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas and earned an M.S. in Gifted Education from the Teacher’s College at Emporia State University in Kansas.
I’ve taught drama and gifted education in both Kansas and Oklahoma, as well as acting as the Gifted Education Coordinator in MCPS middle schools for 5 years. I have now been in the Social Studies department at HHS for 10 years. As a strong supporter of community service, I’m proud to serve as the advisor for Key Club as well.
I am married, have 3 children, 3 step-children, many grand children and spend most of my free time traveling to be with my family or just to see the world.
As a board member of the Missoula Curling Club, my favorite hobby is to transport the Canadian sport of curling to Missoula. Pass the word along!
