A little about me: I grew up in Helena, Montana and graduated from Helena High school. I received my bachelor’s degree in history from Montana State University in the Spring of 2006, my Broad-field social studies degree in the spring of 2014 with an emphasis in government and psychology, and my Masters degree from The University of Montana in 2019. Now in my 15th year at Hellgate, I teach U.S. History, Psychology, and History of Rock and Roll in room 241. I have a passion for music, hiking, biking, and the Montana outdoors.
Teaching Philosophy: I believe that the study of other cultures is the answer to how the United States evolves in the world. Here in Montana, it is very important to learn about the larger world around us. As times change and cultures clash, it is imperative to understand how we can learn from each other and help to solve these clashes in a peaceful way. The study of social studies is designed for that purpose. The generation of tomorrow must learn from the triumphs and tragedies of the past in order to shape the future of this planet.
