Dear Hellgate band families,
I wanted to share the exciting national recognition received by our very own Noah Rosulek, a Hellgate senior in the band program. He was recently selected for the Jazz Band of America, a national honor ensemble scheduled to perform March 23 in Indianapolis. I'm hoping we can spread the word about Noah's exceptional and national achievement!
Noah Rosulek (pictured below) is a senior percussionist and guitarist in the Hellgate Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band. He auditioned for the Music for All's selection committee in December, 2023, via prepared video performances. Noah's past accolades on jazz guitar include MT All-State Jazz Band, All-Northwest Jazz Band 2023, Billings Jazz Festival Best Soloist Award, and the UM Buddy DeFranco Jazz Festival Best Soloist Award.
Music for All’s tradition of outstanding national honor ensembles showcasing the finest high school musicians includes the Jazz Band of America. The Jazz Band of America is comprised of high school musicians, selected by recorded audition. The Jazz Band of America is recognized as one of the top honor ensembles for young musicians in the nation, with a prestigious legacy and reputation for the highest level of excellence. Many members of the Jazz Band of America are also selected for the GRAMMY® jazz bands. Past conductors and guest artists include Patti Austin, Shelly Berg, Wayne Bergeron, Ndugu Chancler, John Clayton, Lou Fischer, Wycliffe Gordon, Wynton Marsalis, Ron McCurdy, Allen Vizzutti (a Hellgate graduate!) and Phil Woods.

The concerts of the 2024 Music for All National Festival, presented by Yamaha, will be livestreamed at no cost to viewers by BOX5 Media on box5tv.com, Thursday-Saturday, March 21-23, from Indianapolis. Enjoy some of the nation’s finest high school concert bands, orchestras, percussion ensembles, and chamber ensembles, INCLUDING the Honor Band of America and Jazz Band of America concerts on Saturday, March 23.
