Hello Hellgate Band,

This time of year I always admire how many rewarding band events we get to do. I am so appreciative of your upbeat contributions to our growth every day. "Practice creates confidence. Confidence empowers you" and the whole band.  We all know that excellence is not an accident, it is the habit of practice. And Hellgate has a long tradition of excellence thanks to students like you.

• Feb 8, Pep Band Game, 6:15 PM
• Feb 13, MCPS School Board Meeting, 6:00 PM, Admin Building A on South Ave
• Tuesday, February 13, 7:00 PM:  Jazz Collaboration Concert at Sentinel (both Hellgate jazz bands), students arrive at SHS 6:30 PM in concert uniform (tux/dress)
• Feb 15, Pep Band GOAT games at Adams Center, cross-town double header,
  • Meet at HHS 4:30 PM, quick dinner provided (eat together), walk over to UM Adams Center.
  • Games at 6PM & 8PM. Walk back to HHS together after the games.
  • We need as many students as possible for the crosstown GOAT Games in the Adams Center!

• Feb 22, Pep Band Game, 6:15 PM (boys senior night)
• Feb 26, UM Concert Band Festival (schedule and info)
  • Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble (who all sound awesome right now!)
• March 1, Jazz Bands plays at First Friday for Hellgate art club, at the Missoula Public Library
  • Be there at 4:30 PM, perform at 5:00-6:30 PM
  • Attire - Hellgate band shirt and jeans
• March 4-5, AA Band Festival in Missoula (Wind Ensemble members)
  • Info and schedule
  • All other bands MUST watch these excellent concerts at 7pm on March 4 and 5. Don't miss the free live music, AND a chance to support your peers!
• March 8-9, Pep Band at the State Basketball Tournament in Missoula

• March 14, UM Buddy DeFranco Jazz Festival for all jazz bands (schedule TBD)

Office Hours for weekly sectionals and practice! We have a tradition of getting together every week or so with your section buddies to practice and improve. But it's on you and your classmates to make it happen. It's the Hellgate way to be accountable and put in our best efforts -- we're in this together!
