Hello!  I am Matt Keenan, Ed.D.--or Profe in class--and I am very excited to be a part of community at Big Sky High School!  2023-2024 will be my third year at Big Sky but my 13th year as an educator and school administrator.

After completing my undergraduate degree from James Madison University in Spanish and Latin American History I joined the Peace Corps and spent two and a half years working on community development projects in rural Nicaragua.  Upon returning to the States I moved to Missoula and worked in mental health and for the Flagship program for several years, running after-school programs at Franklin Elementary.  I then obtained my teaching license and Master's in Curriculum & Instruction from Montana State University and took a job teaching Spanish at a therapeutic school in the Flathead Valley.  After six years of teaching, I assumed the role of Head of School and served as the school administrator for three years.  I earned my doctorate in education, also from Montana State University, in the spring of 2022 and I am so happy to be back working directly with students at Big Sky!

When I am not at school I love spending time with my family, and my two young boys keep my wife and I very busy!  We all love biking, camping, playing music, and enjoying all of the wonderful things that make Missoula such a great place to live!
