My name is Matt Keenan (also known as Profe in class) and I am very excited to be a part of community at Big Sky High School!  While I am new to the school I have been working in education for the past decade.  Right after completing my undergraduate degree from James Madison University in Spanish and Latin American History I joined the Peace Corps and spent two and a half years working on community development projects in rural Nicaragua.  Upon returning to the States I moved to Missoula and worked in mental health and for the Flagship program for several years running after-school programs at Franklin Elementary.  I then obtained my teaching license and Master's in Curriculum & Instruction from Montana State University and took a job teaching Spanish at a private, therapeutic boarding school in the Flathead Valley.  After six years of teaching I assumed the role of Head of School there and worked in education administration for three years.  Now, I am happy to return to the classroom and get back to working directly with students, my true passion, while also pursuing my doctorate in Education Leadership, also from Montana State.

When I am not at school I love spending time with my family, and my two young boys keep my wife and I very busy!  We all love biking, camping, playing music, and enjoying all of the wonderful things that make Missoula such a great place to live!

If you have questions about any of my classes please do not hesitate to reach out either by email (mkeenan@mcpsmt.org) or phone (406-728-2400 x8631) or come visit me in room 31 and I would love to connect with you!
