“One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way.” – Frank Smith
Hello! My name is Katie. I graduated from the University of Montana in 2015 with Bachelors degrees in Spanish and Creative Writing. I have spent time studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Patagonia, and in 2012 I taught English in Spain. I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Spanish Language and Teaching through the University of Southern Oregon's Summer Language Insitutue.
My passion for Spanish grew from an early travel experience to Mexico. Since then, my academic interests grew include Spanish-language literature and the history of social justice movements in Latin America. In Argentina, I spent my time learning about Argentine Populism and the contemporary history of workers cooperatives following the 2001 economic depression in the country. This is my sixth year as a Spanish Teacher at Big Sky High School.
