“One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way.” – Frank Smith
Hello! My name is Katie. I graduated from the University of Montana in 2015 with Bachelors degrees in Spanish and Creative Writing. In addition to my education, I have spent time studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Patagonia, and teaching English in Spain. This summer, I began a Masters Degree in Spanish Language and Teaching for which I traveled to Guanajuato, Mexico! My passion for Spanish grew from an early travel experience in Mexico. Since then, my academic interests grew include Spanish-language literature, particularly the Latin American Boom, and the history of social justice movements in Latin America. In Argentina, I spent my time learning about Argentine Populism and the contemporary history of workers cooperatives following the 2001 economic depression in the country. This is my fourth year as a Spanish Teacher at Big Sky High School.
