B.S. Health and Human Development Broadfield Science & CTE Teaching Certification
Hello everyone, Mr. Murphy here!
This is my third year teaching at Big Sky and I'm excited to work with you all!
As a Montana local, Missoula is the town I've called home for over 25 years. After attending high school here in town, I ventured over to Bozeman where I completed my Bachelors of Science in Health and Human Development with a speciality in Exercise Science and a minor in cell biology and neuroscience. After graduation, I spent a gap year here in Missoula, where I discovered my passion for working with students at the high school level. Through the University of Montana, I was able to join my passion for science and working with students. I am working on my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction where I received my licensure in Broadfield Science Teaching as well as CTE. This year I will be working primarily with freshmen in Principles of Biomedical Science within our Biomed tract of the Health Science Academy. Aside from this, I will be teaching one period of Medical Terminology and Public Health. It is my hope and goal to help my students find a passion in one of the many fields of Science and help them grow as individuals.
Outside of the classroom, you can often find me running with my wife and dog on the trails around Missoula, looking for any opportunity to find water in the form of a local river or nearby lake, or following one of my many sports teams. On top of teaching, I am the head coach of our Boys Basketball program and help advise our Student Government here at Big Sky and can't wait to help these programs for years to come.
