Hello! 

My name is Melissa Briner and I will be teaching Theatre here at Big Sky.  I am thrilled to spend my seventh year of teaching.  I spent 6 years at CS Porter Middle School and this is my first year here at Big Sky.  I completed my K-8 Certification as well as a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction at The University of Montana in 2017.  Before this I earned a B.A. in Theatre from St. Michael's College in Burlington, Vermont.  I also have a K-12 theatre endorsement! 

I was born and raised in Massachusetts and found my way to Missoula in 2008 when I began touring with Missoula Children's Theatre.  To this day, I am an active part of the MCT family, and you may even spot me on stage every now and then!  I am so happy to bring theatre into the lives of my students daily.  I know how important theatre is for our students as it develops so many life skills while also creating a safe space for students to truly be who they want to be.  Theatre was my outlet in High school and I'm happy to provide that space for my students today!
