 My name is Maureen Ojala and I am delighted to be on the Special Education team at Hellgate High School. 

I am originally from Paisley, Scotland and have been in the U.S. for 20 years.  I went to Law School in Scotland at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, so teaching is a second career for me. I used to volunteer my time with children with disabilities, consequently  becoming a Special Education teacher was really a natural progression.  I obtained my teaching certificate and M.A. in Special Education from Point Loma Nazarene University in California, where I lived and worked for five years. Since coming back to Montana, I have taught at Corvallis High School in the Bitterroot, and at Hawthorne Elementary here in Missoula. 

I am married to Eric, who is an alumni of Hellgate, and who also teaches Science here. I have a daughter, Rori,who will be attending this Fall as a Senior.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling, hiking, and camping here in the great state of Montana.
