About Mr. Martin

Welcome to my site, a small piece of the wonderful C.S. Porter community.  Even though there are still lots of unknowns this year, I am excited to tackle these challenges.

My teaching experience:

I taught grades 2-4th grade math in Bonner for one year where I also coached junior high football. I was a substitute teacher around Missoula for two years working at Target Range, Hellgate Elementary, and MCPS.   I have also taught grades 7-12 history and social studies for five years and coached high school football in St. Regis, Montana.

A little more about me:

Before I became a full time teacher I enjoyed some great experiences working and living at Garnet Ghost Town for a summer, working as a museum technician in Virginia City, Montana, and six seasons as a ranger with the National Park Service at Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site.

I’m a fifth generation Montanan and love living in Western Montana. I have a wife and a little boy born in March of 2017.  In my spare time I love sports, (rodeos and Griz games), camping, fishing, hunting, and reading about the history of Montana and the American West.
