Mr. Jim Martin
Welcome to my site, a small piece of the wonderful C.S. Porter community. I am looking forward to another great year of fun and learning.
My teaching experience:
Before starting at C.S. Porter in 2014, I taught grades 2-4th grade math in Bonner for one year, where I also coached junior high football. I was a substitute teacher around Missoula for two years, working at Target Range, Hellgate Elementary, and MCPS. I have also taught grades 7-12 history and social studies for five years and coached high school football in St. Regis, Montana.
A little more about me:
Before I became a teacher, I enjoyed some great experiences working and living at Garnet Ghost Town for a summer, working as a museum technician in Virginia City, Montana, and six seasons as a ranger with the National Park Service at Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site.
I’m a fifth-generation Montanan and love living in Western Montana. I have a wife and two boys. In my spare time, I love sports, (rodeos and Griz games), camping, fishing, hunting, and reading about the history of Montana and the American West.
Always remember that, if you have any questions or concerns, contact me.
Thanks and I look forward to an amazing year!!
