The Porter Family Resource Center is a place where parents, community members, students and employees can find family-centered activities and resources that encourage parent and family involvement at school. Staffed by Stephanie Morrison FRC Stephanie Morrison, a Family Resource Specialist, the Center organizes activities such as  visits with the principal, family classes, math luncheons, newsletters and more. The programs work to enhance and empower families and neighborhoods, teach leadership skills, and provide support for  youth and families.  The FRC has the daily newspaper, audio and video tapes about parenting, pamphlets, books, coffee, community support agencies, information about parenting classes, friends, music, resume writing, help with family finances, homework information, games to check out and school supplies.

We hope you will stop by and visit the Family Resource Center.  Be sure to read the school newsletter for FRC news and a calendar of events.  For more information about the FRC, call (406)728-2400, ext. 4613, or email porterfrc@mcps.k12.mt.us.

“The evidence is consistent, positive, and convincing: families have a major influence on their children’s achievement. When schools, families and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer and like school more.”
