My name is Scott Edge and I am the Computer Applications teacher at CS Porter Middle School. This is my nineteenth year teaching here at CS Porter. For the first six years, I taught 6th grade Math, Science, Social Studies, English Language Arts, and H/PE. Twelve years ago, I was given the opportunity to teach Engineering classes. I love the challenge and am looking forward to the years ahead.

 

Sixth graders will be learning about the Engineering Design Process through designing and building various engineering projects.  Seventh graders participate in the Design and Modeling PLTW module, using state-of-the-art design software to create various artifacts throughout the quarter. Eighth graders take on the Automation and Robotics module and design and create machines and robots using the VEX building platform. This year we added Green Architecture in 8th grade. Students will learn about building sustainably and even build a small wooden shed.
