Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Philbert

I grew up in a family of car enthusiasts. I have always loved cars, mostly from the 60's. Really, if it looks cool or sounds good, I'm all about it. I was always curious about vehicles and what makes them work. I spent a lot of time watching my dad and his friends work on their vehicles, but was afraid to jump in and help. I took a small engines class in high school, which gave me enough confidence to get involved and learn more. I eventually attended tech school at Universal Technical Institute in Avondale, AZ. I received my degree in Automotive, Diesel & Industrial Technologies. After graduation, I moved back to Missoula to put my degree to use. I was hired by a local dealership as an automotive technician. I was given many opportunities for dealer-specific training and continued my learning there. I stayed with the dealership until I realized how badly I missed working with children. My passion for teaching began at age fourteen when I was training to become a gymnastics coach. When I decided I was done as a technician, I went back to coaching gymnastics and applied for a para-educator position. I was a para at Sentinel for seven years, This is my third year teaching Automotive.
