Missoula County Public Schools Graduation Requirements

Missoula County Public Schools requires that students entering the District earn a minimum of 24 credits to graduate.
- 4 credits of English language arts
- 3 credits of mathematics
- 2.5 credits of social studies (includes one year of American History, one year of US Govt. OR equivalent social studies courses, and one semester of social science elective)
- 2 credits of science (includes one year of earth & space or integrated 9th and 10th grade science and one year of biological science OR equivalent science courses)
- 2 credits of health enhancement
- 1 credit of arts (music, drama or visual art)
- 1 credit of career and technical education
- 8.5 credits of elective coursework
State of Montana Graduation Requirements
A school district can establish its own requirements for graduation. The minimum graduation requirements are established by the Montana Board of Public Education and are found in ARM 10.55.905. A student has to complete a minimum of 20 credits in order to receive a Montana high school diploma with 13 credits in the following courses:
- 4 credits of English language arts
- 2 credits of mathematics
- 2 credits of social studies (including a 1/2 unit of Civics or Government)
- 2 credits of science
- 1 credit of health enhancement and physical education
- 1 credit of arts
- 1 credit of career and technical education
- 1/2 unit of economics or financial literacy within the 2 units of social studies, the 2 units of mathematics, or the 1 unit of career and technical education
