Benjamin Cummins

Hello, I am Benjamin Cummins and have been teaching for over 15 years now.  I graduated from Western Carolina University with a major in Natural Resource Management and Forestry. I quickly moved to Montana in 2000 and started working with the School of Forestry in their Wildlife Biology department collecting data on small mammals, Canadian lynx, and Snowshoe hares. I went back to school and earned my Master's Degree (2006) in Education from the University of Montana and started teaching Earth Science, Biology and Geology, at Big Sky High School. I moved back to North Carolina and earned my National Board Certification and after 5 years of teaching moved back to Montana and now teach Earth Science, AP Environmental Science, and Engineering at Sentinel. I work with the Montana Federation of Public Employees, completed the Teacher Leadership Institute, and was the Earth Science Ambassador for Montana Science Teacher's Association. I'm glad to be back in the classroom after a year of MOA and am looking forward to teaching you about the wonders of the Earth.
