  • Welcome to Sophomore English! This year we will be engaging in the following major units which are meant to empower you through strategies of questioning and conversation. Be ready to participate and to think critically about our fictional worlds, about your own life, and about the real world around you. 

     

     

  • September: 

    Reading, viewing, and discussion will revolve around topics present in and related to Jeanette Ingold’s The Big Burn.

    October: 

    Reading, viewing, and discussion will revolve around topics present in and related to J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye

    November & December:

    Reading, viewing, and discussion will revolve around topics present in and related to William Golding's Lord of the Flies

    January/February/March:

    Reading, viewing, and discussion will revolve around topics present in and related to Argumentation/Logical Fallacies and William Shakespeare's Othello

    March&April:

    Reading, viewing, and discussion will revolve around topics present in and related to the genre of Science-Fiction & Ray Bradbury's The Illustrated Man

    May&June:

    Reading, viewing, and discussion will revolve around topics present in and related to TED presentations
