Track Lettering Requirements

To earn a VARSITY LETTER in Track and Field you must accomplish both of the following sets of standards:
Student/Athlete: (Must meet ALL THREE)
- Have good academic standing for all grade checks during the season:
- Eligible ALL season
- Attend practice every day:
- Unless you have a legitimate reason for missing practice (pre-arranged, doctor’s notes, work conflicts, etc.)
- Abide to the agreed upon student-athlete code of conduct during the season.
Performance Marks:
- Score an accumulation of 10 points in a VARSITY meet:
- Each point scored in a varsity meet counts towards the 10 points of a varsity letter
- Relay team points are divided amongst all participating
- If an individual places in the top eight at any invitational (MCPS, Butte-Boys, Great Falls-Girls)
- Each point scored in a varsity meet counts towards the 10 points of a varsity letter
OR place in the top ten at the Divisional track meet, they will earn a letter.
- Meets or exceeds the automatic lettering requirements for Track and Field athletes at
- Seniors who have given their time to the Spartan Track and Field Program (Coaches Discretion)
- Have good academic standing for all grade checks during the season:

An athlete may earn a letter by one of the above means only if the athlete completes the track season in good standing which includes competing in the Divisional and State (if qualified) track meets.
