7th grade book recommendations
7th grade ELA involves reading and writing via the Engage New York curriculum. The main texts we will read this year include: A Long Walk to Water (novel), Lyddie (novel), and the Narrative of The Life of Frederick Douglass (excerpts).
Students will also read a variety of primary source articles that coincide with each text as they learn to perfect their understanding of how to write a QUOTE SANDWICH (paragraph with an introduction, supporting evidence (quote), and analysis/explanation of what the evidence means.
