Montana Behavior Initiative

  • The Montana Behavioral Initiative (MBI) assists educators, parents, and other community members in developing the attitudes, skills and systems necessary to ensure that each student, regardless of ability or disability, leaves public education and enters the community with social and academic competence.

Washington Middle School has adopted MBI and the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports approach to student discipline.  Our primary goal is to prevent discipline problems.  In order to do this, we teach, model, and expect students to display the Washington Middle School Extremely Positive Expectations: Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful.  We also supervise students using the common area expectation matrix (see the link below).  Washington Middle School staff works to reinforce positive behavior and show appreciation for students following the expectations.

BE SAFE, BE RESPONSIBLE, AND BE RESPECTFUL!
