Register/Enroll for High School

Your student will automatically be enrolled in their "home" high school, based off of your home address. You can verify your information in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal (missoulamt.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/missoula.jsp), or by contacting your school's front office. If you need assistance logging into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, please contact the front office. Letters were sent out on October 27th to let families know which high school their student is attending. We have also given students an enrollment packet that should have been completed and submitted to their WIN teacher on Monday, November 13th.

High School Course Selection

School Counselors will be going into 8th grade HPE classes to complete this process (Check "Important Dates" below to see when this will happen). To begin this process, we will explain high school graduation requirements and look at courses offered at the high schools. We will be using this powerpoint as a guide to this conversation. We will also use the Montana Career Information System (MCIS) to have students take a career interest survey and begin looking at some potential careers. This offers a different perspective on high school course selection, as this tool can help them find out which high school courses are helpful to take for different career paths.

Also, at this website you can learn more about some of the different programs available at the high school (i.e., International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, AP Capstone Diploma, Career and Technical Education pathways). 

Important Dates

• November 9 - completed High School enrollment packets due back to WIN teachers. 
• January 19 - Deadline for transfer requests to another high school. (Refer to section above.)
• February 1 - Families should be notified if their transfer request was accepted or declined
• Weeks of January 16-31: Students will:
  
  • Create an account on the MCIS (Montana Career Information Systems) website
  • Complete a Career Interest Inventory
  • Use the information from the career exploration to get an idea of what types of classes to take in high school 
  • Learn about what classes are offered at their high school. 
  • Begin to fill out their high school course request paperwork. *Parents, please ask your student to talk to you about this, and sign their course request sheet. .

• February 2, 2024 - Students' high school course request paperwork is DUE! (turned into HPE teacher); Ms. Brown's class is due 2/9
• Week of February 12, 2024 - High School Counselors will assist students to enter high school course requests into Infinite Campus. Paper copies that were submitted to HPE teachers will be sent to the appropriate high school.
