Scholarship Information

  • April Scholarship Deadlines

    • Missoula Community Foundation Scholarships:  The Missoula Community Foundation Scholarship Program is designed to provide assistance to students from Missoula-area high schools to attend post-secondary schools in Montana. One student from Sentinel High School will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Winners will be selected based on Community Involvement, Aptitude, Character, Academic Interest and Financial Need. Applications will be reviewed by our Board of Directors for final approval. Scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the post-secondary institution. Students will be required to submit proof of registration.
    • Muralt Family Foundation Scholarship:  One $1,000 scholarship is available to a Sentinel H.S. graduating senior with at least a 2.5 gpa who plans to attend a post-secondary school in Montana. Applicants must pursue a course of study in business, engineering, education or health services. Activities, leadership, and community involvement are considered. Completed applications must be turned in to the Senior Counselor.

    May Scholarship Deadlines

    • John Pohl Scholarship: The purpose of the John Pohl Scholarship is to provide educational funds to a Sentinel High School senior planning to attend a college, vocational school or university. The scholarship is in memory of John Pohl, a talented musician and avid skier. The committee will award a $1,000 scholarship for tuition. Scholarship Criteria:
      Sentinel High School Senior (2020 Graduate)
      Applicant must type a short essay (approximately 300 words) responding to the following prompt: What does music mean to you? Creativity encouraged.
      Applicant must submit a video of themselves playing a musical instrument or singing.
      Complete the John Pohl scholarship application.
      Turn in the application, essay and video via email to slpohl@mcps.k12.mt.us on or before 5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2021.
      Incomplete submittals will not be considered for an award.
    • Sentinel Booster Club:  The Sentinel Booster Club will once again offer 2 $250.00 scholarships to a graduating senior. This can help your college freshman pay for some books! Every little bit helps.
      • Student must meet the following requirements:
        • Senior Student at Sentinel High School
        • Parent must be an individual member of the Sentinel Booster Club 2020-2021 school year.
      • The Application:
        • First Page: Name, School, Parent names, Name of furthering education establishment.
        • Second Page: One page or less essay on "What does it mean to be a Spartan."
        • These 2 pages are to be emailed to sentinelhighboosterclub@gmail.com by May 7th at 5pm. Subject line: Sentinel Booster Club Scholarship
        • The panel that will pick the 2 recipients will not be associated with the Booster Club. The essays will also be given to them without names on them. Please email sentinelhighboosterclub@gmail.com with any questions.
    • The Chase Trade Profession Scholarship:  This $1,000 scholarship recognizes academic, aptitude, skill, and interest in the professional trades. It is open to a graduating Sentinel senior with at least a 2.5 GPA who has been accepted into a technical school. All materials must be submitted to the senior counselor.
