Dear MCPS Families, 

We are looking forward to welcoming students back to school and reconnecting with all of you for another year of growth and learning together!

MCPS prioritizes bringing our schools, families, and community together through building relationships, respect, and common goals that support education. Last year brought some difficult challenges, including budget shortfalls. These challenges impact our entire school community, and I want to acknowledge the significant weight they carry. We will not always agree on every approach and decision related to difficult issues, but by fostering open dialogue, practicing empathy, and coming together with a common heart for our students, I am confident that we will navigate challenges successfully. As we prepare to embark on this new academic year, I am grateful that we are a community that genuinely cares for and respects one another and always prioritize our kids. I humbly ask each of you to approach this school year as part of a district united, with a shared commitment to our schools.

There are many positive developments on the horizon for MCPS! Our top priorities for the coming year include: 

1. Charter schools up and running: Expanding educational options for our students. 
2. Exploring transformational learning: Discussing goals and opportunities to enhance student growth and development through innovative approaches.
3. Budget stability: Working towards long-term financial health for our district. 
4. Safety and security: Continuing to prioritize the well-being of our students and staff.
5. Facility planning, occupancy, and maintenance: Ensuring our learning environments support our educational goals. 

I am truly honored to serve as your superintendent and am excited for the year ahead. I look forward to working together to make this an outstanding year for our students and community. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to MCPS.

Greetings MCPS Families,

I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the next Superintendent of Missoula County Public Schools. I’m committed to leading MCPS with all my heart! Thank you in advance for your support as we move forward together.

I am transitioning to Missoula from Kalispell, where I have served as an educator and administrator in Kalispell Public Schools for 25 years. Although this time marks a big transition for our family, we are inspired and invigorated by the amazing attributes of Missoula and MCPS. It is evident that students and education are at the heart of the Missoula community. We are genuinely excited about this new chapter and grateful to be joining the MCPS family. Thank you for all the ways you have already made us feel welcome.

I am excited about the future of MCPS. I look forward to fostering excellent working relationships with our Board of Trustees, administrative teams, district staff, families, students, and the broader community in order to serve and support our district in the best way possible. I am 100 percent committed to continuing a legacy of educational excellence in Missoula schools.
