Grading Policy:
-
- Assignments - 30% of your quarter grade
- Assessments - 70% of your quarter grade
- Late assignments will be accepted up until the topic/unit assessment. Students MUST email Ms. Boucher when any assignment has been submitted after the posted due date. Late/missing assignments will not be recorded in the grade book without an email from the student stating specifically which assignment was completed/submitted late or redone for better understanding. There is no penalty for late assignments submitted within a unit of study. After the unit assessment has been done, no assignments from that unit will be accepted for credit.
Homework: 8th grade students will have homework this year. Students can expect to spend 30-40 minutes a night completing homework. Math homework will regularly be 15-20 minutes of that time. If they don’t have homework, they should use that time to read a book of their choice.
Absences: Getting caught up and staying caught up is HARD in an activity based learning and discussion rich math class! You should strive to be in class every day! It is your responsibility to get any missing work if you must be absent. Students should obtain copies of the notes from a classmate and assignments from our Google Classroom. If you have a planned absence, be sure to see me in advance.Infinite Campus & Google Classroom: Teachers post assignments, announcements, and materials on Google Classroom. Grades are frequently updated on Infinite Campus - please check both of them on a regular basis!! This is the best way to regularly see how you are doing.
