Bienvenidos a la clase de Español!
I'm excited to start my fifth year with our Meadow Hill school family. I was born in South Dakota, but prior to arriving in Missoula I taught for 10 years in Colorado -- primarily working with emergent bilingual students from Mexico and El Salvador. I have also taught Spanish I and II, Spanish for Native Speakers, and US History in Spanish at the high school level. I hold a BA in Spanish and an MS in Curriculum and Instruction, and spent many summers taking teens on service-based language and culture exchange trips to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Puerto Rico through a student travel company. The Spanish language and the various cultures of Spanish-speaking countries hold a special place in my heart, and I'm excited to share that passion with our students. When I'm not teaching, you can usually find me in the mountains, on the water, on the couch with a new book, or at a live music event. During longer vacations, I love to travel --I can't wait to tell you about my trip to El Salvador this summer. Please come in and say hello any time!
