Degrees and Certifications:
I'm excited to join the Meadow Hill school community this year. I was born in South Dakota, but prior to arriving in Missoula I taught for 10 years in Colorado -- primarily working with English language learners from Mexico and El Salvador. I have also taught Spanish I and II, Spanish for Native Speakers, and US History in Spanish at the high school level. I hold a BA in Spanish from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, and spent much of the past decade taking teens on service-based language and culture exchange trips to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Puerto Rico through a student travel company. The Spanish language and the various cultures of Spanish-speaking countries hold a special place in my heart, and I'm excited to share that passion with our students. When I'm not teaching, you can usually find me in the mountains, on a soccer field (coaching or playing), on the couch with a new book, or at a live music event. During longer vacations, I love to travel. I spent this summer rafting the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe, bungee jumping in South Africa, and exploring ancient stone churches in Ethiopia. Please come in and say hello any time!
