We begin our literacy growth by using our prior knowledge of reading and writing to help us build accurate comprehension and fluency. We have been using “Ready GEN". It is a highly research-based program that addresses the second-grade reading standards set by the State of Montana and MCPS. An additional supplemental source for this is called “Making Meaning” which focuses on comprehension strategies.
