    Hawthorne Expansion and Remodel Update

Currently, the team at Sletten is hanging sheetrock, taping, and getting ready to begin finishes in the office suite and new first grade classroom. Casework and painting will occur in the coming weeks. Soon, you will notice glass installation from the outside. So far, it looks like phase one of the project is right on schedule.

    HALLOWEEN INFORMATION & COSTUME CODE

Due to construction and a reduced amount of parking, we will not be having our usual Halloween Parade. We will have a student only assembly instead this year and student only classroom celebrations.

Please keep a few things in mind…

    * Costumes should not be scary, offensive, or violent. We do not allow students to carry any weapons of any kind, even if they are a prop.  Please leave them at home!

    * Please do not wear your costume to school as it may be a
distraction. Pack your costume to change in to at school, each class will have time to change.

    * This is a student only classroom celebration. Please wait     outside for them after school.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding, have a safe and  Happy Halloween!

    Family Cooking Classes with EFNEP

Sign up for the 9 free cooking classes through Montana State University’s Nutrition Education Program. This year, Hawthorne is collaborating with C.S. Porter Middle School to have our course in a supportive environment where families of Hawthorne Hawks can meet and befriend the families of C.S. Porter middle school-ers. We hope this opportunity for communication will open new door ways that will reduce the tension and fear our students and their families experience when transitioning to middle school.

To register for the class, go to www.buyeatlivebetter.org and click on “Register for Nutrition Classes” or contact Lily Morgan-Curet at lmorgan-curet@mcps.k12.mt.us

Classes will run every Monday from October 15th to December 10th, and will be held at C.S. Porter.

    PTA Announcement

Classroom directory forms have been distributed to Teachers and should have been sent home last Friday. The directory is a great way to schedule playdates! Please fill out as much information as you would like there to be on in. If you did not receive a directory form it is because your child was signed up to Opt-out of being in the class directory.  Turn in to your child’s teacher.

A round of applause for our wonderful Volunteers!

101 Hawk Parents have submitted their Three for Me promise to their child and school to volunteer this year! Congratulations Parents! We are excited to see you more this year.
