Hello! My name is Haley Velazquez. I am a first year, First Grade teacher at Hawthorne! I obtained my Bachelors of Social Science at Portland State University in 2020. I moved to Missoula from Oregon last year after graduating from George Fox University with my Masters in Arts of Teaching in 2022. I worked as a preschool teacher for several years during my college career, as well as the first few months of living in Missoula! I am very lucky to have always known that I wanted to be a primary teacher. Nothing is better than guiding young students to become independent, responsible and confident human beings. AMAZING growth happens in first grade, and I am beyond grateful to be part of it. It has been such a rewarding year!
When I am not teaching, I have been taking full advantage of the beauty and wildlife Montana has to offer! I love being outside in the spring and summer seasons, reading books, going to live music and staying indoors cooking delicious food, cuddling my cats and watching movies during the cold winter season!
