Welcome!
My name is Megan Pignataro and this is my first year of teaching first grade here at Hawthorne Elementary. I am so grateful to spend my time with these little learners and to join such a wonderful school community. Prior to this year, I taught kindergarten at Lewis & Clark Elementary, long-term substituted for a wonderful 1st grade classroom, and spent 4 years working in a local preschool. I was inspired to become a teacher after spending a year as an AmeriCorps service member working with students in the Bozeman school district and leading nutrition and gardening education.
I am originally from Billings and have enjoyed living here in Missoula since I originally moved here in 2011 to attend the University of Montana. I received my BS in Community Health and Prevention Science from UM in 2015 and then returned to the university to pursue my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy cooking, spending time with my dogs, and getting out in nature!
Feel free to reach out to me at msorg@mcpsmt.org or by phone at (406) 728-2400 ext. 4296.
