Teachers for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students provide a variety of educational supports to students with identified hearing loss. Ms. White and Ms. Byrne work with Missoula County Public School students across all grade levels, from Preschool to High School. As specialists, they work in collaboration with Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams for mainstreamed D/HH students through direct teaching, co-teaching, or consultation.

Our Teachers of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing implement visual and spoken language programming, including American Sign Language instruction, and English language/literacy strategies. They offer assistive listening technology technical support and resources, consultation, and in-servicing. As itinerant staff working across the district, they partner with members of the educational team, including interpreters, teachers, speech/language pathologists, audiologists, related service providers, paraeducators, administrators, students, families, and transition agencies to provide the most appropriate supports for the varied needs of our diverse population.
