Hello! My name is Jennifer Jencso (pronounced Jen-so) and I am thrilled to be your student's 3rd grade teacher this year and to call myself a Lynx! I grew up in California and loved my years in elementary school. I decided to pursue a teaching degree in Maryland and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Frostburg State University in 2004. I moved to Montana shortly after graduating to attend graduate school and I completed a Masters of Education from Montana State University in 2009. Since then, I have had the good fortune to work for Missoula County Public Schools in various roles, to start a family, and to make Montana our forever home.
3rd grade is an important year in elementary school! Fostering a love of reading, writing, and math in every student will be my guiding philosophy as we explore topics like fractions, multiplication, Missoula history, writing personal narratives, exploring various genres in reading, and so much more! We will also work hard to be awesome classroom citizens and to create a safe and welcoming environment for all of us to learn and grow in.
I live in the Rattlesnake with my husband, Kelsey, two children (Jayne and Graham), and our many family pets (including a backyard flock of chickens!). When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time with my family and friends.
I look forward to spending the year growing and learning together with your student! Please feel free to contact me at anytime with questions/comments/needs etc!
