Dear Lewis & Clark Families,
Let me be the first to welcome you to Lewis & Clark Elementary School! I am very proud of our dedicated staff and enthusiastic learners, and I look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s academic, social, physical, and emotional well-being. Meeting the needs and supporting the whole child is a foundational cornerstone of the Lewis & Clark staff philosophy. As demands of teaching children increase, it becomes more evident the importance of our partnership in your child’s education. It’s our responsibility to empower and engage children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become successful.
With that in mind, we invite you to be an active participant at Lewis & Clark. Whether you are a classroom volunteer, become a ROW mentor, are a member of the PTA, or want to help support special events, I encourage you to be involved! Increasing parent involvement in our school is a high priority for me this year and educational research clearly demonstrates that when parents are more involved in their child’s education, the child’s likelihood for academic success greatly increases.
One of our most important responsibilities to you is that we keep you informed of all that is taking place at the school. Some of the ways we do this are regularly updating our school website, weekly family newsletters, monthly school fliers from our FRC, and communication with your child’s classroom teacher. You can find up-to-date events, school photographs, and additional information on the website, as well as stop by the office to connect with our wonderful administrative assistants. I encourage you to visit it as often as possible.
I look forward to having a long and rewarding relationship with you and your family. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time.
Sincerely,
Alanna Vaneps, Principal
