    What's Happening This Month

    September 2nd: No School

    September 5th: Open House 

    September 12th: Evacuation Drill 1:00

    September 18th: Lockdown Drill 9:00

    Reminder that every Thursday is early out, at 2:10

     

    A Peek At What We Are Learning

    Reading: We have started learning our routines and expectations for Daily 5, and we are rocking it!

     

    Writing: We will start learning and practicing our cursive.

     

    Math: After some procedural practice, we will begin our iReady Math lessons.  We will begin with place value. 

     

    Leader In Me: We are learning about the 7 habits and how these habits support learning, personal development, and a positive classroom culture.

    What's Happening This Month

    June 4th - Field Day 12:00-1:00

    June 5th - Field Trip to Fort Missoula

    June 7th - Last Day of school early out at 11:00 am 

    A Peek at What We are Learning

    Reading: We are working on understanding that literary and informational texts can be used to explore similar topics and ideas.

    Writing: We will be learning to understand that opinions are supported with reasons and evidence.   

    Math: We are learning geometry. Focusing on classifying quadrilaterals. We will also be reviewing multiplication, division as well as adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers.

    What's Happening This Month

    A Peek At What We Are Learning

    Reading: We are in Unit 3 Module B and we are working  on understanding that informational texts have various structures and features that aid the reader’s comprehension.   

    Writing: We are working in Unit 3 Module B and we are learning to understand that related information goes together when presenting a topic with facts, definitions, and details.  

    Math: We are beginning Unit 4 and we will be learning all about fractions. We will be understanding equivalent fractions, comparing fractions and working with plot data and line plots. Please continue to work with your student on multiplication and division facts.

    What's Happening This Month

    February 1st - School Assembly

    February 12th - No School 

    February 14th - Valentine’s Day party

    A Peek At What We Are Learning

    Reading: We are in Unit 3 Module A, and we are working on understanding that stories have important central messages, lessons, or morals.  

    Writing: We are working in Unit 3 Module A, and we are learning that opinion writing supports a point of view with reasons. 

    Math: We are working through Unit 3, where we are focusing on finding areas, solving word problems and using scaled graphs all while utilizing our new multiplication facts and understanding. Please continue to work with your student on multiplication and division facts.

    Writing: We are working on understanding that information and ideas can be compared and contrasted.  

    Math: We are starting Unit 3, which focuses on finding areas, solving word problems and using scaled graphs.

    A Peek at What We are Learning

    Reading: We are focusing on understanding that asking and answering questions using text-based evidence can help us better comprehend text. 

    Writing: We are working hard on understanding that dialogue and characters’ actions help develop the events in a story.   

    Math: We are almost done with Unit 2 which focuses on multiplication and division, and will be moving into Unit 3 where we will be learning how to find area, solve word problems and use a scaled graph.

    A Peek at What we are Learning

    Reading: We are learning to understand the actions and motivations of characters in stories. 

    Writing: We are working on understanding that characters’ actions affect the sequence of events in a story. We are also working on learning our lowercase cursive letters.   

    Math: We are focusing on multiplication and division, specifically concepts, relationships and patterns.   

    Science: We are learning about weather. Specifically, clouds, weather prediction and extreme weather.
