    Franklin Elementary PTA

You are invited to join us at our Franklin PTA Meetings!

Our meetings are generally held on the second Monday of each month during the school year, from 6–7 p.m. Meeting information is sent out through school texts and email, or reach out to us at franklinpta1910@gmail.com to be added to our mailing list.

What does the Franklin PTA do?

We are dedicated to working with Franklin Elementary School teachers and staff to support the education and growth of every child who attends the school.

We raise funds to support in-school activities and needs such as:

    • Class field trips

    • School garden

    • Proud Paw school store

    • Classroom recycling program

    • Library materials subscriptions

    • Scholarships for Band/Orchestra student instrument rentals

    • Special improvement projects (like the playground additions!)

    • … and other needs as they arise!

We also coordinate events such as teacher appreciation breakfasts and luncheons, the Scholastic Bookfair, Family Engagement events, and the Franklin All-School Walkathon.

You can choose to be involved as little or as much as you’d like.

Just want to stay in touch with what’s going on at the school? Great! Email us and we’ll add you to our list so you can stay in the loop. You can also follow the Franklin PTA Facebook page for timely updates on school news and activities!

Do you want to spend more time in the classroom and working on projects? We also help the school by volunteering during school picture days, hearing screenings, school store days, and other events.

Have a specific project you’d like to see happen at Franklin?

Please email us! We have several committees focusing on specific issues, and we may already be talking about it, or we can take it up during a meeting.

    Current committees/opportunities include:

    • Parent Representative

Want to be more involved in your child’s classroom? This role is meant to directly assist the teacher with volunteer and material needs within the classroom, and also communicate specific ideas/concerns/priorities from the parents in their class to the PTA.

    • Garden Committee
In conjunction with Garden City Harvest, this committee supports the Franklin school garden and Farmer in the Classroom program. These programs support and deepen our childrens’ connection with their food, seasonal growing cycles, and the natural world.

    • Fundraising/Donations Committee

This committee focuses on fundraising and raising in kind donations from the community to make it possible for the PTA to offer school and classroom support, hold family events, and continue our other activities.

    • Member Engagement

This committee is focused on building our membership so that all parents and grade levels are represented in the PTA membership body.

    • Playground Advocacy

This committee is dedicated to advocating, planning, and fundraising for improvements and maintenance on the Franklin Elementary playgrounds.
