Summer Garden Information

The Franklin School Garden will be open this summer! Garden City Harvest staff have been working hard to prepare and plant the garden with spring vegetables such as peas, radishes, and spinach, as well as summer produce like tomatoes and cucumbers. We missed seeing Franklin students in the garden this spring, but we hope to see you soon! Families are welcome to visit the garden and take home veggies through the Adopt-the-Garden and Open Garden Hours programs. Due to COVID-19, new cleaning procedures and other measures will be in place to keep the community safe and healthy. We hope you will join us in the garden this summer!

Adopt-the-Garden

Weekly, beginning June 1st

We are looking for families to adopt-the-garden each week of the summer. You will help by opening the garden for a couple of hours during the week, whenever it fits into your schedule. We encourage you to do some light weeding and harvesting. Some perks of the job: taking home free, fresh produce and enjoying the outdoors!

Open Garden Hours

Tuesdays 9am-12pm

June 23rd - August 11th

School Gardens Manager Hannah will be in the garden every Tuesday morning this summer. Come visit the garden, help out, learn about gardening, connect with neighbors, and take home some fresh fruits and vegetables

Summer Meals

The summer meal program is available at the following school sites.  These sites will be open and serving from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

• Chief Charlo Elementary School
• Franklin Elementary School
• Lowell Elementary School
• Russell Elementary School
• Willard Alternative High School 

There will be no on-site congregating. All meals will be prepacked, grab-and-go style. Each bag will contain breakfast and lunch. The school sites’ pickup locations will be clearly marked.

ESSA State Report Cards

The Office of Public Instruction released the 2017-18 school year report cards on Monday, April 22, 2019. The federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires state, district, and school-level data to be displayed on report cards in a concise, understandable, and accessible manner for families and communities. The state, district, and local report cards will be available along with additional information on the OPI’s new report card webpage.  This data is already publicly available on the state’s GEMS Data warehouse. It is now being conveyed in an easier format for the public to understand.

Elementary Attendance Boundary Study

Missoula County Public Schools is in need of a boundary study process.  Our school district is growing, over the past 11 years, we have grown by almost 800 students.  To learn more, please visit the Elementary Attendance Boundary Study webpage.  

Daily Schedule

Your child's day begins at 8:25. If they arrive after the bell rings, please have them check in at the office. Students in kindergarten through third grades will be in class until 3:00. Children in grades four and five will be dismissed at 3:30. All students are dismissed one hour early on Thursdays.
