My name is Sydney Sjoerdsma (Shirts-ma) and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! This will be my seventh year teaching, my fourth year teaching 5th Grade, and my first year teaching at Lewis and Clark! I have taught for five years in Washington with the Issaquah School District and one year in Michigan teaching in a suburb of the Detroit area. This is my first year in Montanta and I am so excited to be here! I grew up in a small town in Washington State called Orting about an hour from Seattle. I graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelors in Elementary Mathematics and graduated from WGU with a Masters in Learning and Technology.
I am so passionate about what I do! I absolutely love teaching and making learning as fun and engaging as I possibly can! I strive to ensure all students in my classroom feel welcome, respected, included, seen, and heard. I can't wait for all the fun memories and learning that will take place over the year.
