WHAT A GREAT FIRST WEEK BACK! 

3rd grade is off to a beautiful start to the year. I have truly enjoyed seeing old friends and new faces and getting to know each one this week. 

If you have a water bottle, please send one in for your child.  Staying hydrated is vital to brain power. Also, we have snack every afternoon provided by MCPS. It’s usually a fruit or vegetable. If you want to send in a separate one, please make sure it’s a healthy choice.

Our Learning Focus

English Language Arts

This month we are focusing on asking and answering questions in our stories. We are also focusing on character’s actions and motivation and how they contribute to the sequence of the story. In writing, we will begin writing personal and imaginative  narratives focusing on organization,  strong openings and conventions. 

Math:

I can add and subtract within 1000 to solve one and two-step word problems.
