    WELCOME TO 2nd Grade!

HELLO! My name is Jolyne O’Brien, and I am blessed to be your child’s second grade teacher this year. I grew up in Spokane, Washington and graduated from Eastern Washington. GO EAGLES!   I graduated with my BA in elementary education with a specialist degree as a Reading Specialist. I am halfway to my master's from UNLV, but stopped to focus on my family. This is my 16th year teaching elementary. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Mike and my four children. I love to travel, shop, and read. I hope to one day write a book and become an author.

This is our third year as a Leader in Me school.  This is an exciting adventure where we will continue to learn and live the 7 Habits.  Most of all, l I value the time I get to spend with your children each day.  Thank you for sharing their gifts and talents with me as we travel on this journey of learning together.  My goal is to help create life-long learners who embrace innovation, creativity, challenges, and achieve goals.  May I offer them as much this year as they offer me.  With a "I CAN" attitude, the top is not out of reach. I look forward to getting to know each child, their strengths, talents, and see them grow in all academic and social emotional areas.

Please feel free to contact me anytime for any questions, comments, or concerns via email jaobrien@mcpsmt.org or by phone (406) 728-2400 ext. 4416.  I will try to always get back to you within 24  hours, but if it's urgent, please contact the school office to leave me a message. (406) 542-2400 If an issue arises, please get ahold of me and let's have a conversation about it.  I have an open door policy.  I believe it takes a tribe to raise a child, and I feel honored to be a part of your tribe this year.
