What is Occupational Therapy?
School Occupational Therapists are key contributors within the school education team. We support a student's ability to participate in the daily school activities and support their academic achievement and promote positive behaviors. Generally, OT supports academic outcomes in the areas of fine motor, social skills, writing, behavior management, self-help skills, sensory-motor and participation. A student will typically go through an evaluation process and qualify for an IEP and receive services. As a therapist, we work with students, parents, teachers and other staff, who are an integral part of a student's day.
