- Let’s Move! Missoula is a program designed to encourage a healthier lifestyle for kids in Missoula through nutrition, physical activity and school involvement.
- MCPS partners with Montana State University’s Department of Health and Human Development to host a number of dietetic interns for a week at a time. Interns experience school food service production firsthand and get a glimpse into food service management.
- Missoula City-County Health Department Community Nutrition works to improve nutrition environments for Missoula County residents through education, advocacy, and partnerships that strengthen access to nutrition.
- WIC (Women, Infants and Children) works to assure healthy pregnancies, healthy birth outcomes, and healthy growth and development for women, infants, and children up to age five who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious supplemental foods, breastfeeding promotion and support, education on healthy eating, and referrals to healthcare and critical social services.
- CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) is a national program designed to encourage healthier lifestyles through nutrition education, physical activity, and healthy classroom environments for children.
- Montana Marinara is the brainchild of MCPS' own Edward Christensen. Local Montana-grown produce is stewed into a healthy and delicious marinara sauce that is chock-full of vegetables and a perfect product for school meals. Processed and bottled at Mission Mountain Food Enterprise Center (MMFEC) in Ronan, this local sauce is less expensive than similar commercial products.
