Farm to School

When children help plant and grow vegetables and fruits, they grow their own curiosity, confidence, and a taste for trying new foods.

MCPS and the local nonprofit Garden City Harvest are leaders in the school garden movement, promoting children's connection to the land and a healthy relationship with food through these welcoming spaces on our school campuses.

High School students have the opportunity to participate in the MCPS Agriculture program where they can learn about animal and food sciences.  Students raise pigs, sheep & chickens with FFA and plant garden starts and flowers every spring in the greenhouse. Don't miss the plant sale in May!
