MCPS is dedicated to providing a safe, high-quality learning environment for our students while remaining responsible stewards of taxpayer funds. In addition to serving our students, we are happy to support our community by opening our facilities for different community events, athletic programs and sports tournaments.
In opening our facilities and fields to community groups we incur costs associated with that usage. Our goal is to balance accessibility with the costs of providing quality facilities. Fees are charged to offset the costs of utilities, supplies, staffing, and routine maintenance. Increased usage directly impacts our expenses—from gym floor refinishing to field irrigation and seeding. We understand that many of the groups that utilize our facilities also provide very important and beneficial services to our community. MCPS charges usage fees to all groups regardless of profit status. Our goal is to balance community accessibility with the long-term preservation of our facilities.
Important Reminder: Insurance
To ensure the safety of all participants, all outside groups are required to maintain commercial general liability insurance ($1M/$2M limits) naming MCPS as an additional insured. Please ensure an updated certificate of insurance is sent to Rebecca Dawson to keep your reservation active.
