My musical endeavors began at home singing and playing music with my grandmother, who was a professional musician. By age ten I was playing trumpet with the grade school band. Later, I switched to electric bass and began to teach myself to play. I moved to Spokane Washington and enjoyed some success playing bass in several original projects but found myself longing to learn more about music and become a more complete musician. I moved back to Missoula and began to study music at the U of M. I enrolled as a music education major studying the string bass. At the U of M. I performed with many ensembles encompassing a wide range of musical styles from classical music to Latin jazz and big band swing. It was at the U of M that I recorded a CD with the Islanders Steel drum band. I currently perform with several groups and with three Montana symphony orchestras.
