Mrs. Keyes, Teacher Librarian

My name is Lisa Keyes, and I am so happy to be working with such great students and staff here at C.S. Porter.  Originally from Massachusetts, I have been living out west for the last 20+ years, spending time in Missoula in the early-mid 90's, then living and teaching in Oregon and California.  My husband, two sons, and I returned to Missoula in 2007 and enjoy all that Montana has to offer.

I love to read, swim, run, travel, learn languages, and spend time with my family and friends! I spent 3 years in Japan in the 90's and a few years ago experienced a semester of adventure living in Guatemala and traveling throughout Central America with my family during my husband's sabbatical.

My experience teaching varies greatly and includes elementary, middle school, and even some time at the high school level. I also had the opportunity to teach middle school Spanish for 3 years which was a lot of fun. This is my 7th year working as a teacher librarian, a job I absolutely adore.  Who wouldn't love getting good books into the hands of reluctant readers and seeing students get excited about reading?  Or sharing notes on interesting writing styles, authors, and titles with avid readers? With such a wide selection of books in C.S.Porter's library, there is something for everyone!

I look forward to seeing you in the library!

Today I will be giving a brief presentation to teachers after school on creating blogs on their websites to share important information and upcoming due dates or deadlines with students and families.
