Welcome to First Grade

  • Welcome, First Grade Families! I am so happy to be teaching with the Missoula Online Academy this year.

My name is Erin Asay. I’m 31 years old and grew up in a small town called Manhattan, Montana. I came to the University of Montana in Missoula for college, and fell in love with the town, rivers and mountains, and community. I’ve taught Kindergarten and First Grade at Seeley Lake Elementary and Franklin Elementary, and this year will be my lucky tenth year of teaching. I love to hike, read, dance, and spend time on our beautiful waters. This summer we got a sweet puppy, who keeps us on our toes! My favorite part of being a teacher is building relationships, and I am so grateful to be able to work with your family this year. Looking forward to a year of learning and growth together! Please reach out any time.

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is be at a river! This is our puppy, Magnolia. She is a 5 month old goldendoodle.

Ms. Erin Asay

I am originally from Manhattan, Montana, a small town near Bozeman. I moved to Missoula and graduated from the University of Montana with my degree in Elementary Education, an Endorsement in Reading, and a concentration in Music in 2011. I taught First Grade in Seeley Lake, then moved back to Missoula to join our team at Franklin Elementary. I love teaching at Franklin, our staff and students are amazing! When I'm not at school, I like to hike the many trails around Missoula, play in the sun and water, read, or ski in the winter.
