Teachers for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students provide a variety of educational supports to students with identified hearing loss. Ms. White works with Missoula County Public School students, Preschool through High School. As a specialist she works in collaboration with Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams for mainstreamed D/HH students through direct teaching or consultation.

Sarah also delights in teaching the American Sign Language 1 class at Big Sky High School. This course introduces the basics of American Sign Language (ASL). It is designed for students who have little or no previous knowledge of ASL, although all skill levels are welcome. Students will learn vocabulary, grammar, fingerspelling, and numbers. Additionally, questions, commands, and other sentence structures are introduced to develop beginning conversational skills in ASL. Information about the Deaf Community and Deaf Culture will be highlighted throughout this course. During the 2018-19 school year, this class is offered 8th period in room 46.
