Hi!  I am am one of the Basic Life Skills teachers in the Special Education Department here at Big Sky. I also teach the Exceptionalities class offered to the Gen Ed students.  I am lucky enough to be the teaching partner of Matt Laidlaw and Shelby Lipp. This year we are happy to welcome Jeff Boespflug to our tam!  We run an awesome program with the help of our para-educators and amazing peer tutors!  This is my 29th year at Big Sky.  Before that, I taught in Helena, Billings and Tioga, ND.  Both my undergraduate and graduate degrees are from Minot State University (yes, I am a North Dakota girl).  I teach American Heart Association CPR and First Aid for the District.
My husband, Randy, and I will have been married for 37 years in January.  We have two children, Alyssa (2006 Big Sky graduate)  who is an RN at St. James in Butte and Weston, (2013 graduate)  who is currently working with children with Autism in Tacoma, WA !  We have 2 dogs, Maddie (Border Collie)  and Scout (Mini Australian Shepard).  We have two grandchildren, Avery Lee Canape  (4) and Colton Craig Canape ( 15 months).  I am a gushing grandmother and always have photos available! :)
Special Olympics is my greatest passion after my family.  I have been involved with Special Olympics Montana for .....a very long time! I am one of the local program coordinators for the Missoula High Schools team and am involved in athlete training  and competition for  3 seasons.
When I have free time, I love to spend time with my family, read trashy novels and cook!
Contact me anytime if you have questions about our program or if you would like to help with Special Olympics events.
