Hello and welcome!  Writing this I realize I have spent almost half of my life at Big Sky High School—4 as a student and 26 years as a teacher!  I graduated from Big Sky in 1985 and returned as an English and Journalism teacher in 1996.  Once an Eagle, always an Eagle I guess.

I attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA where I earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism.  After interning and working at LA’s KTLA Channel 5 News, I moved to San Diego and attended San Diego State University for an English degree and my teaching certificate.  I then taught at Hoover High School in San Diego from 1991-95.

Returning to Missoula for my 10-year reunion turned into more than just a quick visit.  I was offered an assistant girls basketball coaching position at BSHS and my husband and I decided this was an opportunity to move home, so we took it.  Bye-bye Cali, hello Missoula!  I was a permanent sub for that school year and was fortunate to become a full-time teacher during the 1996-97 school year.

In 2005, I earned my Master of Education degree from Lesley University.  A year later, I was fortunate to be selected to attend the ASNE High School Journalism Institute.  I am currently the Key Club adviser.

As for English, I teach English 3 IB SL and English 4 IB SL.

When I am not grading papers or at a school activity, I can be found spending time with my family, supporting Montana Tech and the Montana Grizzlies, working in my yard, walking my dogs, relaxing in Fish Creek, or sailing with my husband.
