Carol Campbell grew up in Missoula, Montana and attended the University of Montana. She began her career in Baker Montana teaching fifth grade. Carol moved back to Missoula and began substituting, working as a para-educator, and then joined the Missoula County Public Schools teaching 2nd grade at Willard School.
When Willard School closed as an elementary school, the entire staff (including Miss Campbell) moved to Roosevelt School. When Roosevelt also closed, Carol moved to Hawthorne. She was able to teach first grade for one year, but has otherwise remained in second grade. While at Hawthorne, Carol completed her Masters in Elementary Education with a Library Media endorsement.
